When they ask for a synopsis…

These handy notes were taken while I was on the Met Film screenwriting course back in 2011. Aside from the reminder of what should and shouldn’t find its way into your synopsis, the pointers towards writing it as if a screenplay in miniature is really helpful. The specification on 250 word limit (and under) also goes some way in delineating between how a synopsis is different from an outline/ treatment.  So, don’t be flummoxed: take another step forward towards improving your synopses by downloading it here.
